Associate of Applied Science Degree Program - 90 Quarter Credit Hours
Not seeking to enroll students.
This program seeks to provide students with an understanding of the body and its functions and teaches relevant massage techniques and therapeutic skills. These include, but are not limited to, specialized massage such as sports massage, therapeutic massage, neuromuscular therapy and kinesiology. Skills for client-therapist relations, communication and promotion complete this well-rounded degree that prepares students for entry into massage career opportunities and to pursue national certification.
Upon graduation, students will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes of the body and therapeutic treatments to enhance health and healing.
Develop communication skills to ascertain client needs and determine an appropriate treatment plan.
Master massage skills to perform current modalities of massage while adhering to professional ethics, principles and legal standards.
Prepare to take state-recognized credentialing exam and demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through professional development on knowledge of massage science, theory and practice.
Promote healthful living and wellness through community involvement and client education.
