CJ 1150 - Introduction to Corrections

4 Credit Hours

This course focuses on historical and contemporary views of offender management and treatment and includes a comprehensive examination of the American correctional system. Special focus is placed on theories of punishment and rehabilitation and community-based corrections. The course examines the operation and administration of correctional facilities, prison life and contemporary debates concerning the role of corrections society. Prerequisite(s): None.
